There are no eggs in the house.

I am highly amused by the fact that the first things that greeted me this morning were a) my dad coming into the kitchen to tell me Labour had won the Aussie election, and b) every Aussie on my Flist bidding Howard a gleefully unfriendly farewell. This pleases me, if only because it's not Howard, though I don't know anything about Rudd, either. I do suspect it's something along the lines of the way I feel about Harper. I don't know Duceppe that well, but he's Not Harper. (Though I would still quite like it if Elizabeth May managed somehow to win a whole seat. It'd be like an election-day miracle. *fond hazy smile*)

Today is for writing Personal Statements for U of T. I don't like these much. I have 1,000 words to tell the scary graduate admissions people why I want to be a librarian/write books. Then I have to assemble a portfolio. Errrgh.

Also, for some reason, instead of writing NaNo over the past three days, I have written almost 5,000 words of a short story. I. What? I don't know. I'm still two days ahead on NaNo, because when I got distracted I was four days ahead, but I would still like to finish early like last year.

I would also like to note that it is very, very, very fucking cold outside. I am of the firm (and popular) opinion that Greater Vancouver has no business whatsoever dipping below zero degrees celsius at any point prior to December 15th. I went out to the bank earlier and just the windows open had middlesis and I practically frozen.

Okay. On with it.
