Pet Peeve #112

(rant) People who hit the automatic door-open button on doors when they don't have to. Those buttons, you may notice, have the little wheelchair symbol on them. The same one painted two feet square in handicapped parking spaces. That means that those buttons, their magical powers, and the electricity and wear implied in their use, are intended for the benefit of the either temporarily or permanently physically disabled. If you aren't using crutches, a cane, a walker, in a wheelchair or scooter, suffering from an unfortunate lack of arms, or at least pushing a stroller or gigantic unweildy shopping cart, then you don't need to press the button. Use your hand, and pull or push the door open. It's not that hard, I swear. I AM TALKING TO YOU, LULULEMON-BEDECKED TEENAGE GIRL AND FRIENDS. And if swinging open a door that probably requires two pounds of exertion, max, is so strenuous that you suddenly suffer a massive coronary, then I suggest you get your ass to the gym.

(/rant) How does one make the triangle brackets appear in LJ without LJ interpreting them as html, anyway?

I ADMIT IT! Sometimes I push the handicapped button in the shopping malls! I'm sorry! I just really like pushing buttons. I try very hard not to, and most of the time I succeed, but the call it just too strong sometimes...

Well, I do it, occasionally, too, but usually it's like... I have bags weighing me down, or I've had lots of suger and I'm all WHEE! BUTTON! like you.

But the first-year students who do it. Habitually. Because it's so much effort to pull the door open like they have thumbs of their own... *headdesk*

And also I kept getting stuck behind groups of them this morning, as they waited for the door... to slowly... open... *repeat headdesk*

Cheer up.

Your Slings and Arrows DVDs showed up today, and Veronica Mars and Gilmore Girls are on tonight. I also bought you some tomato soup, for your peace of mind.

HOORAY! I checked Amazon.ca about two hours ago and the tracking window looked like this:

1pm Nov. 7th: Shipping Details Electronically Submitted - MISSISAGUA, ONTARIO
3pm Nov. 14th: Out For Delivery - NEW WESTMINSTER

Now can I ask, what the hell is the point of tracking? o.O

I HATE THAT!

When someone in front of me does that, I march right past them, say "Lazy ass" and push open the door that they are waiting for.
