Simon (my sort-of uncle) phoned my mum this afternoon and told her he had tickets he couldn't use... so Mum and I went to see (what I think was) the twentieth anniversary show of the Vinyl Cafe, at the Clarke Foundation Theatre in Mission. The Vinyl Cafe is a CBC show. It was very good, very funny... if you're Canadian and relatively well-informed, anyway. ;)
And... I actually accomplished *some* research for my Friday paper. I have to go back to photocopy the topic songs (it's on Victorian Music Hall), but I may actually finish this one ahead of time. I plan on killing it properly Wednesday.
I had a to-do list in my planner... I think I got about half of it done.
Friday I helped mik100 start her thrift-shopping training. I don't know how effective I was, but she came away with some booty, so I consider it a job well done. (Also I found a grey sweater that, while not useful for my costume, is grey with red-gold-black-gold-red stripes at the cuffs, collar, and hem, so I have a Gryffindor sweater for casual wear. Heh. I will adorn it with a patch when they arrive, I think.
I dyed my skirt... it is now the right colour, although I think that we may also have dyed a stain that was not visible when the skirt was beige. I'm waiting to see how much it lightens when it dries, but I'll have to live with it anyway, I guess. But I have a skirt! Now all I have to do is find a sweater, socks/tights, better shoes, and make my robe. I washed the fabric but that's about as far as I got with it.
No packages yet. Expect at least one tomorrow, and will probably actually get it as we got to the store just as the pharmacy closed so someone will have to drive my prescription out to me, along with my skirt, my shirt, and the jacket Faya borrowed but has not yet returned (the pain of death be upon her if she does not retrieve it tomorrow).
And now I suppose I should really pay my phone bill.
