...I dunno, really. It just grabbed my brain and made me write it down. It made me look bad in class - I wasn't paying attention. The prof said I was "wool-gathering". *grumble*

By ancient birth,
On trampled earth,
Was formed egality
But drawing in
To drying skin
Deformed reality.

False light, outspilled,
It split in two:
Pure pale and sullied grey.
And few remain
Touch sight unseen -
Called mad and turned away

In happening by
Once brightened things,
In shadows long and deep;
And overtake
As wakened rough from sleep.
