snow

The evening.

1. Watched State of the Union Address.

2. Had a good laugh.

3. Vowed that if Martin Sheen ever runs for President, I will become an American citizen just so I can vote for him.

4. Made cookies.

...seriously, 'Merkin friends, do you find this man inspiring? Because I find him monotone and laughable at best, and uninterested/confused at worst. Maybe I'm shallow, but being a competent speaker is a big tick in my will-I-vote-for-you book, and Dubya is just about as far from one as I've ever seen.

Also he spent more than twice as much time talking about terrorism than he did about the economy, healthcare, education, and the energy crisis rolled together. And the applause was really quite creepy, when it happened and how it happened like they all had time cues to clap in unison. Scary. (Though I'll admit watching Clinton and Obama struggle to control their gag reflexes was somewhat entertaining.) It's just... he didn't actually say anything.

Seriously. I feel for you guys.

In other news: I am nearly finished part 3 of Catalysis, I swear. I'm not sure why this part is taking me so long, except maybe that all the really difficult and high-stress moments take place in this part and I keep re-writing things. Er, sorry? If it snows tomorrow, I promise I will finish it then, come hell or high water.

Speaking of inclement weather, if anybody has some spare climactic kharma, wanna send it my way? I know it's bizarre to be hoping for snow, but snow has been fucking me around something impressive this winter, snowing for the weekend and then clearing up for school days, and I would really love to have at least one guilt-free day off due to the evil white stuff, please.
