BAM! Another chapter down!

I don't think I've ever written quite like this before. Sort of... I know these characters, I know this universe, so ridiculously well, that it's not even like I'm thinking about it. The only time I ever even feel like I'm exerting effort is when I have to re-arrange the order of a chapter, or switch a POV, or look up maps of the Vancouver Art Gallery and a five block radius to make sure I'm dropping the right references in the right directions, etc. And as the result of some precaffienated walking-around-muttering-to-myself this morning, I came up with a twist that is not only a much better explanation for the way certain things happened during the riot, but also serves as a totally unemphasized coupling-point for the magic plotline and the political plotline. I RULE.

Also, I have learned that teenage Jenaya LePlage is a thoroughly unreliable narrator. I just want her to grow up already so that I can stop wanting to slap her all the time.

I think for NaNo I may even be able to write... dare I say it... the SECOND BOOK.

Er. That should not be taken as mocking fate. *knocks on wood*

I'm also finding that I no longer much like the titles of the trilogy. I'm not on the point of coming up with new ones yet - I've been calling this book by this title since I was thirteen, that will take longer if it happens at all - but they're bothering me, a little. Just a little.

It's weird, though. The way I'm writing it now... it's kind of anticlimactic, certainly nothing like the mad dancing (and slightly delirious) triumph that accompanied my finishing Riverwend... though admittedly I had a three-degree fever when I finished Riverwend.

I don't have to be feverish to write! This is good to know!

And I think I got my first LJ comment spam yesterday. The hell?
