Arghhhhbuggerbuggerbugger half the classes I wanted are FULL. Stupid lying academic advisors, said I didn't really need the paperwork 'cause they'd fixed the prereqs this year and now I have to rearrange my whole schedule and have Wednesday 'til 10:30PM DAMNIT.

Politics. But almost entirely Canadian snark.

Apparently the PM and his PR people are really worried that Carolyn Parrish might embarass Parliament by heckling Bush. Apparently she's promised not to pull faces. ;)

If you are a) not Canadian and/or b) have no idea who this woman is, she's the one who was in that This Hour Has 22 Minutes skit where she stepped on a Bush doll wearing pointy shoes.

Parrish also refused to apologize for taking part in a skit for the CBC television comedy This Hour Has 22 Minutes, in which she stomps on a Bush doll. The skit was denounced by Conservative and Liberal MPs alike.

Oh, really? They both denounced it? Oh, well, then it must be bad. Since Canadian politics are so united-front, and all.

They both denounced it? Good! Because I thought it was funny, and I don't like any of them.

Gods... you know what would be the funniest thing ever? If Marge showed up. In the Xena outfit. Oh, my. I would frame that and hang it on my wall.

EDIT: I was thinking that I wished I lived in Ottawa just so I could be there when Bush comes, and protest loudly and in bright colours (in RAINBOWS!) with a big sign that says something snarky that I would come up with later because I can't think of anything adequately snarky now. 'Cause up here in Canada? We don't have "Free Speech Zones". We call that "Anywhere We Bloody Well Please You Assholes" and it doesn't have chainlink fences.

Yes. I was thinking that. Then I remembered that it's already winter there. And that by November 30th it will be even MORE winter than it is now. And then I remembered Carolyn (not Parrish - X-Carolyn) telling me stories about standing at the bus stop for ten minutes and your eyeballs freezing. This is not human-friendly weather. Anybody who still protests in eyeball-freezing weather gets my awe, respect, and hearty approval. Maybe not my company. Or rather, I probably still *would*, but I would be very, very cold and less effective while doing it, or worse I would get caught up and enthusiastic and no one would notice the hypothermia until I fell over and got trampled by the crowd. *shivers, just thinking about it*

OH FUCK OFF YOU STUPID OLD CONSERVATIVE MEN. She got elected. She's allowed to say whatever she wants. Oh, wait... she's allowed to do that anyway! She doesn't seem to mind getting canned, so why should you be so preoccupied with the idea?

Whee! Go Carolyn! You're probably going to get fired but I'll cheer you as you burn!

And oh, good. More debit card fraud. *sigh*

And while we're at it? Just give them their fucking money. It's one thing to drag crap through the courts when it's somebody's grandkids or great-grandkids demanding cash, but this ridiculously extensive review process really, really just makes it look like you're dragging it out until they all die of old age, and that is just deeply uncool. Somebody did bad. They're still here. Deal.
