Bwahahspacegeekiness. ^.^

The SETI@Home project has detected a candidate signal, yay. The BBC is playing the partypooper, as usual, but I don't care. It's still cool. The excitement is fun, especially as it is borne of the concerted efforts of thousands of geeks. It might prove somewhat less fun if, y'know, the aliens are unfriendly, and show up in gigantic yellow cruisers bent on demolishing the Earth to make way for an intergalactic freeway or something, but hey, I've got salted peanuts. I'm good.

EDIT: Bugger, nostalgia_lj beat me to it.
